These terms cover your use of fortyrows at fortyrows.com. By creating an account or subscribing you agree to them, to the privacy policy and to the guidelines. If you don’t agree, don’t use fortyrows.
You must be at least 18. Membership is by approved application or through a member’s referral link. One account per person.
Keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else is using it, email [email protected].
Membership costs $49.99/month, charged in advance through Stripe. It renews every month until you cancel. Prices are in US dollars and don’t include any taxes that apply.
When you apply, we authorize the first month on your card and save the card for your membership. We charge it only if we approve your application, and then bill each month after that. If we don’t approve it, we release the authorization and charge nothing. An authorization lasts about a week; if we approve you after it lapses, we charge your saved card then.
We’ll tell you at least 30 days before a price change applies to your renewal.
If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it. If it never goes through, your membership ends.
Cancel anytime from your account. You keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and you won’t be charged again.
Payments aren’t refundable, except where the law requires it or we charged you in error.
Every member has a referral link. Someone who joins through yours and has never paid gets $5 off their first month. When that first month is paid, you get one free month as a credit on your account. There’s no limit to how many you can earn.
If that first payment is disputed, or refunded within 120 days so that less than half of it stays paid, the credit is taken back. Credits have no cash value and can’t be transferred.
Don’t spam your link or refer yourself. We can change or end the program; credits you’ve already earned stay.
You own what you post. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, format and distribute it to run and promote fortyrows. That includes showing post titles, companies, roles and levels publicly and to search engines. An approved application’s write-up becomes your first post.
The license ends when your content is removed, except for backup copies kept for a limited time.
Post only your own interviews, nothing under NDA or otherwise confidential, and follow the guidelines. Anonymous posts hide your handle from members; staff can still see who wrote them.
Posts come from members and from us. We don’t verify them, and interview processes change. Nothing here is professional, legal or career advice, and we don’t promise any outcome, offer or job.
Members-only content is for your own use. Don’t copy, scrape, resell or republish it.
If something on fortyrows is yours, confidential or about you, email [email protected] with the link and what’s wrong. We review every request and remove content that breaks these terms or the law.
Staff can edit or remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the guidelines. If we end your membership for a serious or repeated breach, you don’t get a refund.
You can close your account anytime by emailing [email protected].
If we shut fortyrows down, we’ll refund the unused part of any paid period.
fortyrows is provided as is. We work to keep it running and secure, but we don’t promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available.
As far as the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it.
We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here with a new date and tell members about material changes before they apply. Using fortyrows after that means you accept them.
